I’d like you to meet a good friend of mine, who is an absolute lifesaver in my kitchen at home. Her name is Dot. She lives in my pantry and has got me out of many a sticky situation. The best thing about Dot is that she’s a local (more like an aunty, in fact) so knows her way around the Kiwi pantry and loves a good Kiwi barbecue.
If you haven’t already guessed, Dot is my favourite, easy, no mess, no fuss cooking spray. She’s on call whenever I’m baking, or need to stop food sticking to the grill when I’m firing up the barbie on a hot summer’s day.
The last thing you want is your steak fused to the grill, or your favourite banana loaf clamming up in the baking tin. That’s where Dot comes in. Plus, she has the big tick from the Heart Foundation, so she’s a healthy choice. I trust her to make sure that my loaf slides right out of the tin, and that my lamb chops come off the grill easily, sporting those beautiful signature grill marks. Speaking of chops, here you’ll find one of the recipes I always cook for Dot when she comes around for a barbecue.
So why don’t you fire up the barbie, invite Dot over and let her take care of any sticky situations you might encounter?
